THE SMEP PROGRAMME
Awareness school visits take place in January 2027. Practical Support for Grade 12 and matriculated learners is planned for 26–27 June 2027.
Stage one
SMEP will visit five schools individually and engage Grade 9–12 learners about education and career pathways.
Schools identified so far: Ntabezulu SSS and Shukuma SSS. The school for each visit and any additional schools will be confirmed in due course.
Stage two
Grade 12 and matriculated learners will gather at Ntabezulu SSS, the hosting school, before their Winter School period.
SUPPORT BY GRADE
Grade-specific guidance for learners from Grade 9 through matriculation.
Awareness focus: subject choices and career awareness.
Awareness focus: career exploration and higher-education awareness.
Awareness focus: academic preparation and future planning.
Awareness focus: higher-education access and application preparation. Stage 2 also offers practical application and funding-opportunity support.
Stage 2 practical support includes email setup, university and TVET applications, and identifying funding opportunities learners could apply for.
